Oil on canvas. According to a typed inscription on the reverse, this is a 19th century portrait of Susanna, eldest daughter & 3rd child of Richard Phillips (1780-1829) of Gaile, Co Tipperary and Foyle, Co Kilkenny and his wife Jane, daughter of John Godfrey of Beechmount, Co Tipperary. Susanna was born on 19 August 1802 and died on 14 January 1863 and is buried in the old churchyard at Gaile. She married Captain Thomas Hastings. The painting is housed in an antique style gold swept frame.
