The circular capitals have fixed sconces encircled with embossed convex fluted decoration.
The lower portion of the impressive Corinthian columns are encompassed with a spreading knop ornamented with embossed fluted decoration in a swirl design.
Each swept base is embellished with further decoration identical to that of the knop.
The base of each candlestick is not weighted and bears the contemporary engraved initials 'AC' to the underside, in addition to the scratch weight.
Such original period candlesticks often do not stand the test of time and are becoming increasingly difficult to locate in this condition.
Diameter of sconce 5.2cm/2"
Diameter of capital 2.5cm/1"
Diameter of foot 12cm/4.7"
