The case is engraved 18K Bright & Sons Sheffield

Watchmakers & jewellers. The firm of Bright & Sons began with Isaac Bright in Sheffield in c.1797-1820. He then moved to Buxton in 1820 and continued business there until his death in c.1841. He was succeeded by Henry and Edward Bright. Trade card in Banks Collection (D,2.1469) advertises "I Bright Watch-Maker, Jeweller &c...Sheffield."

The movement is by Mottu & Fils Geneva

The Mottu brothers of Geneva were well known watch and clock makers of Geneva, active from 1842-1875. It is believed that the Mottu family manufactured clocks and watches and their cases for EJ Dent of London between 1842-1862.

Condition: The glass face and one hand is missing. There is no key so one must assume that is doesn’t work, although there appears to be no damage to the inside. The outer case is decorated with summer flowers within a border of rococo detailing.
