This is a solid 18K gold pocket watch with clear hallmarks for London 1861 The watch works well and keeps excellent time. The movement also has a compensated balance with heavy gold weights. The movement is signed “Brockbanks and Aitkins, London” # 1629 and is 98% mint condition - in flawless condition

Case – the movement comes in a heavy 18K gold open face case, which has a hinged inner, back and snap on bezel. The inner has the following inscription; “Presented by the British Government to Capt Louis Divoire of the French Brig “Liberia” for his services to the crew of the ship “Ebba Brahe” of Calcutta in Feb 1864” Louis Gustave Binger was a French officer and explorer who claimed the Ivory Coast (Cote D’Ivoire) for France The case is decorated with engine turning and is in 98% mint condition – ultra crisp

Dial – the white enamel dial has a full set of gilt hands, is signed “Brockbank & Atkins, London” and is in 95% mint condition – a tiny flake next to the 11 and a light hairline on the 3 where the bezel has clipped shut.
The watch has a mineral glass which does have a scratch
The watch is key wound / key set and comes with a key
In mint condition throughout
