Interesting and unusual oval brass tobacco box. The engraving on the lid depicting figures of various nationalities, and on the base, their respective capital cities. So we have;- Swedish, Stockholm - Danish, Copenhagen - French, Paris - English, London - Spanish, Madrid - Polish, Cracow - Portugese, Lisbon. Interestingly no Dutch reference. I suspect that this box is Scandinavian, probably Swedish. Maybe someone with linguistic knowledge could help confirm or otherwise. The construction doesn't give much of a clue but the hinge is unlike any Dutch examples I have seen.
