Original vintage train travel advertising poster: To Western Australia by Trans-Australian Railway - Comfortable, modern travel, luxurious sleeping cars, lounge car & dining car - Save Days. Colourful poster featuring stylised text with images above and below: the top image of Mundaring Weir features a dramatic scene of water pouring down the dam from the reservoir with train tracks visible along the side and trees and hills going towards the horizon; the images below feature an industrial gold mining scene, titled A Portion of the "Golden Mile" Kalgoorlie and a scene featuring Aboriginal people standing on the side as they watch a steam train pass, titled Crossing the Mullabor Plain to W.A. Artwork by Percy Trompf (1902-1964). The Trans-Australian Railway was built from 1912 to provide freight and passenger services linking WA (Western Australia) with the rest of Australia.
