A middle of the 19th century mahogany brass bound apothecary box or cabinet.

The oblong box has a deep hinged lid and storage compartments that hold thirteen assorted size bottles with glass stoppers.

The bottles are held in velvet lined compartments and some of the bottles have labels "Fawcett M.P.S Bebington & New Ferry".

To the front of the box is a drawer with a brass military plate handle and a locking pin to keep it closed.

The interior of the drawer is fitted out and has a lift out tray holding scales, two turned wood boxes holding small weights and a bone spoon.

The drawer holds six assorted size glass bottles, two glass phials with turned wood lids, a glass mortar & pestle, a glass measure, a tin pill box and a lint bandage.

The box is in good condition and has all of its bottles though some have slight chips to the rims. (Circa 1840)
