A Creamware Dutch shape quart jug rouletted and engine turned into the body, inlaid with two slip colours, highlighted with copper-oxide (green), enhanced glazed iron red, and black. British, made circa 1805. For an image of this jug see pg 40 figure 53 in Mocha and Related Dipped Wares by Jonathan Rickard. Mr. Rickard is the foremost author of books on Mochaware. The soft yellow slip on this jug is rare, and we think makes this piece particularly beautiful.
