19th century German made wall clock in a walnut case, circa 1890.

This is a single fusee robustly built mechanism by Winterhalder and Hoffmieir, and bears their stamp, which is housed in a solid walnut case. The painted enamel dial showing roman numerals, spade hands and the shop name of Alexander Sharples. This clock is likely to have been his shop clock for good time on the premises. He is also advertising the fact that he himself was a watchmaker of some note. Brechin is in east Scotland.

These clocks were made for good regular timekeeping for official buildings.

We would be delighted to hear from you if you would like to have this clock in your home. All of our clocks are sold mechanically overhauled and in working order.
