As part of our Japanese art collection we are delighted to offer this humerous boxwood okimono of three seated monkeys , the nicely carved monkeys sit in a circle back to back and with the use of their hands portray the old phrase "Hear no evil,See no evil and speak no evil" the primates are signed to the underside by the highly competent Meiji period artist Koichi.

The condition is good with a nice worn patination !
