This magnificent and rare ruby glass punch bowl set by the inimitable Moser glass company is a tour-de-force of European glassmaking. This exciting and complete set is comprised of a large bulb-formed punch bowl, featuring a rare fluted rim, joined by eight matching cups, each set upon gilded feet of hand-formed glass. The intricate gilded enamel decoration for which this Bohemian firm is so renowned is punctuated by a detailed bas-relief eagle and bunches of applied grapes. Beautifully formed of Moser's signature ruby glass, this set is presented upon a graceful matching platter. Punch sets such as this are among Moser's rarest and most outstanding pieces.

Moser glass, often referred to as the "Glass of Kings," is some of the finest quality art glass ever created. Founded by Ludwig Moser in 1857, the firm created tableware pieces and services as gifts for a number of prestigious clients, including King Edward VII, King Haakon VII of Norway, maharajas, sultans and Pope Pius XVI. A similar set is pictured on page 82 of Moser Artistic Glass, Edition Two by Gary D. Baldwin,

circa 1880.
