This instrument is in exceptional condition and working order, having been retained in its original case. Robert Bancks was highly regarded as one of the finest instrument makers of his day. The instrument has a silvered dial above bubble levels to the compass, hinged latitude arc and hour ring, with compass dial lock, supported on three levelling screw feet, in original fitted mahogany case.
No obvious issues, minor discolouring of original lacquer finish consistent with age.
