A large proportioned Staffordshire ewer,decorated with views of a large castellated castle, in a country setting, in sepia. Above are panels of floral decoration between bands of gilding. The centre panel picked out in gilded letters is dedicated to 'Thomas Rhodes, Superintendent of the Hundred of Repton and Gresley November 1st 1853'

This ewer is of octagonal shape with a shaped handle.
