Evelyn Grace Ince was born in Bhagulpur, India. She studied at the Byam Shaw and Vicat Cole Schools, 1911-16. In the later part of World War I she worked as a land girl. After the war she painted landscapes, portraits and flower subjects, working in watercolour, oil and tempera. She also illustrated several children’s books and was and art teacher. Ince exhibited at the Royal Academy, Royal Watercolour Society, New English Art Club and elsewhere. Works by her and in the collection of the Tate Gallery, Royal Academy and elsewhere.
