A wonderful example of a Charles Ashbee porringer for the Guild of Handicrafts set with a particularly nice vibrant green chrysoprase. This bowl carries the G of H Ltd mark only. Pieces by the Guild of Handicraft with no date or assay marks are not uncommon and are usually thought to have been made as gifts for friends or family. The absence of these other marks is reflected in my price for the piece. The G of H Ltd mark, together with the design of this piece, dates it with certainty to 1900-1908 during Ashbee's tenure at the Guild and in the same period as Liberty & Co's Cymric range.
Excellent, though note abscence of full assay marks
