in wood frame, inscribed on the reverse Gertrude Elizabeth Dalton, eldest daughter of John Dalton of Sleingford park. Married Major Frederick Thompson, 2nd West Yorks Regiment . died in London. This belonged to Anne Arcough, her cook brought at her death by Mrs Heddon she gave it to E.G Crowston 1915

Gertrude, the daughter of John Dalton of Sleningford Park, Yorks married Frederick William Thompson (b.1816), 3rd son of Richard John of Kirby Hall Yorks in 1848. Frederick was a Major of the 2nd West Yorkshire Infantry.
