A Liberty & Co silver and enamel box with enamel flowers designed by Jessie King. This seems to be a particularly rare design and is a lovely small pill or jewellery box. Jessie King was a leading Glasgow School designer and illustrator. By around 1906 she was one of Liberty’s leading jewellery designers. She designed a very few pieces of silver, most well known is her design for a dressing set and several buckles (see Glasgow Museum Collections). Based on an analysis of the Liberty silver sketch book at Westminster Archive, I believe this is one of four small boxes she designed in around 1906 (page 89 of the sketch book). This box is model number 5530 of those four. The box has what I believe is original green lining to the interior and original enamels in very good condition.
Excellent, minor imperfections to one or two enamels
