A mid 18th century Derby dessert plate painted by Edward Withers. This fine plate has a lobed rim and is gilded. The border has a gilt oeil de perdix on a sky blue ground and has three oval cartouches with borders of tooled gilding. Each cartouche is painted with pink rose blooms and foliage on a white ground.

The centre of the plate is painted with a selection of roses in pink on a white ground. This plate is from the Northumberland service painted by William Billingsley, with pieces added to later and painted by Edward Withers.

Marks: Script N and anchor in gold and three stilt marks
