An early 19th century Derby porcelain sucrier and cover. This shaped piece is painted by Thomas Steel. The body has compartments in gilded shaped rococo cartouches painted with fruit, butterfly and insects, and is raised on gilded lions paws topped with lion masks on the body of the sucrier. Either side are moulded shaped gilded handles.

The sucrier has a lid mirroring the decoration below consisting gilded scrolled cartouches and a flamboyant gilded handle.
