A Fine Louis XV Style Gilt-Bronze Mounted Centre Table with a Fleur de Pêcher Marble Top by François Linke.

Linke index number: 607
Linke Title: 'Gueridon Louis XV ceinture mosaique'.

The table has a shaped fleur de pêcher marble top above a conforming frieze with a single drawer centred by a finely cast gilt-bronze acanthus mount. The table is supported by four tapering cabriole legs headed by figural mounts and terminating in gilt-bronze sabots.

This was a very popular Linke model that he adapted to suit the needs and requirements of his demanding clientele. Some were with a marquetry top, others in marble as the present lot which is one of the more elaborate versions of model number 607.
