A Fine Pair of Louis XVI Style Gilt-Bronze Mounted Mahogany Petites Commodes à Encoignures Incorporating Exceptional 18th Century Chinese Lacquer Panels.

Each commode has a a shaped white marble top above a frieze with two short and one long drawer. Below is a cupboard door with a gilt-bronze framed lacquer panel flanked by two open shelves with gilt-bronze galleries. The commodes are raised on square section tapering legs with gilt-bronze caps.

This fine pair of buffets or petites commodes à encoignures incorporate exceptional 18th century lacquer panels. The panels are of wonderful quality and unusual in that they incorporate amongst traditional oriental landscape and Palace scenes, figures in Western costume.
