It is thought that many Frosted Chandeliers where made by order of Queen Victorian to reflect the mood of the country after Prince Albert’s death (December 14th 1861).After this date the frosted chandelier became ever more fashionable, although some earlier examples do existed, the frosted chandelier where manly of plainer form and somewhat less elaborate than their richly cut counterparts, because of their classic looks many examples would not look out of place in today’s modern interiors.
