Edward Holmes Baldock (1777-1845) started his business in Hanway Street Tottenham Court Road in 1805.
According to his entry in the Trade directories of the time he was ‘buying, selling and manufacturing furniture and supplying bronzes, porcelain, and haberdashery, and chinamen to Her Majesty’. He is known to have supplied earthenware and glass to William IV, china to Queen Victoria and designed furniture in both 18th and 19th century styles for other members of the Royal family and the Duke of Buccleuch..
