The Snuff Box is broad rectangular in form with incuse sides. Both the base and sides are engraved with engine turned designs. The cover displays a very unusual cast raised band of trailing foliage and berries. The centre is engraved with the following inscription:

by the Members and Secretary
of the
Master Carmen & Van Proprietors
Mutual Association
As a mark of respect for his services
as Chairman
5th May 1864

The interior displays good gilding and crisp marks.
