A French steel Desk Seal, circa 1815, the handle ivory and the the matrix cut with a coat of arms for Charles-Ferdinand d’Artois, duc de Berry [1778-1820],within the collars of the order of 'Saint-Esprit' and the order of the 'Toison d'Or'. Charles-Ferdinand was the son of Charles-Philippe [1757-1836], the younger brother of Louis XVI and Louis XVIII. Four years after the death of his son, Charles-Philippe succeeded his brother Louis XVIII as king Charles X.
Good with minor rusting to steel surface.
