A handsome and substantial gentleman's cane dating from the late 17th or early 18th century. A large and well proportioned turn ivory knob with a silver-coloured metal eyelet above the original collar with engraved lappets. Beneath this a later band shaped to emulate the collar and engraved "The Gift of Mr. & Mrs. Wilson Stretford Court to Edwin Blundell Leominster" and at the end of the 35.25 inches long malacca shaft (shortened) a lappet shaped silver-coloured metal ferrule enclosing a steel tip. English circa 1700.
