An early 18th century walnut veneered bureau cabinet, the double domed moulded cresting with twin doors probably retaining original arched bevelled plates above twin candle slides and divided by tapering pilasters, these unusually fitted with gilt brass Corinthian capitals and stepped bases, the finely figured walnut interior with an adjustable upper shelf above a small central door opening to reveal a mirrored interior and flanked by twin panelled pilasters with concealed compartments and a bank of twelve drawers, the bureau section with a bookmatched veneered hinged fall fitted with a moulded book rest, the interior with a velvet lined writing surface and a central concealed well in front of two short drawers above a central long drawer flanked by four tiered convex drawers all with pigeon holes, the exterior with two short and two long graduated drawers with oval brass escutcheons and drop ring handles; on turned bun feet.
