Moses Lafount patented this unusual design for chandeliers in January 1797. The town assembly rooms of Bury St. Edmunds in Suffolk retain a group of seven chandeliers to the Lafount patent, possibly supplied around 1804.

The central receiving plate of the chandelier is stamped ‘LAFOUNT PATENT’ and numbered 426.
