An exceptional Hepplewhite period open arm chair in mahogany finely carved throughout, the spats enriched with paterae.

Width: 27" 70 cm
Depth: 20" 51 cm
Height" 36" 92 cm

English circa 1780

George Hepplewhite is regarded as one of the “big three” English Cabinet Makers and this classic example has the medallion back that his designs were known for.

The supreme quality of this example suggests that this chair was almost certainly from Hepplewhites workshop
