A George III silver-gilt & cut glass epergne, London 1766, maker's mark of John Henry Vere & William Lutwyche. All pieces marked with maker and lion passant, central frame and basket fully marked, branches dot-numbered. Openwork grapevine body on branch feet and with eight branch arms supporting four matching smaller baskets and four silver mounted cut-glass bowls, the branches applied with birds and insects, the central basket topped by putti.
