gold frame, the reverse with gold mounted aperture to reveal locks of hair on ivory within blue glass border and Engleheart Exhibition label

Edward was equerry to the Prince of Wales (later George IV). He was the last Scott to live at Scotts Hall, Brabourne, Kent, which had been in the family since at the least the 14th Century. The fall of the house had been prophesied by "The Fair Maid of Kent" many years earlier. Edward's wife was reputably Lady Superintendent to the children of George III.
