A fine George II silver coffee pot of tapering form embossed all over with floral and foliate motifs, each side with a cartouche, one with the crest of a bird emerging from a coronet and the other with a monogram. The octagonal faceted spout with bright cut feather design to the base. The domed lid with a band of foliate and floral embossing and the top with a feather pattern and circular finial. Original double C scroll fruit wood ebonised handle with thumb piece. Standing on a stepped circular base.

Hallmarked to the underside for London 1730 by Simon Pantin II.

Height: 8.5 inches or 22 cm
Diameter of base: 4.5 inches or 11.5 cm
Weight (all in): 764g or 26.5 oz or 24.3 ounces Troy.
This is a very elegant and attractive early Georgian coffee pot. Of small size and in absolutely original condition with only minor signs of wear. Possibly an old repair to the base of the spout. Handle is in superb order with no chips cracks or damage. It is firm in its silver mounting with the original pins. The lid fits well and the hinge is good. The hallmarks legible although worn after nearly three centuries. The makers mark is more worn than the others, but from the shape of the punch and what is visible it can only be the mark of the important Huguenot silversmith, Simon Pantin II.
