George Spence wearing a brown coat with black collar, white waistcoat and tied white cravat
within gold frame the reverse with brown silk backing and the locks of four of his children's hair, a label on the reverse states "The hairs of/ James Spence / Mary Spence/ James Benjamin Spence and the baby Miss Olga of the first named 1847".
Mr. George Spence is recorded, in George Engleheart's fee book as having had his portrait taken in 1793
