An Exceptional and Large Gilt-Bronze Hall Lantern after the Model Made for the Palace of Versailles. The Bronze Cast by Henri Vian.

This large and impressive lantern is finely cast and chisselled with a pierced crown carona above a dodecagonal baluster body with bevelled glass panes divided by herm figures and acanthus, the lower section with fine lions head mounts and terminating in an acanthus finial.

The lantern is modelled after the celebrated Versailles model, illustrated in H. Harvard, ‘Dictionnaire de l'Ameublement et de la Decoration’, Paris, 1893, Vol. III, pl. 15.
