Georg Cornicelius (1825-1898) was a reputable German painter from the 19th Century. He was born in Hanau and was the son of the porcelain painter Friedrich Cornicelius. Growing up he attended the Drawing Academy of Hanau between 1838 and 1848, where he was appointed as honorary member. Later he opened his own private painting school.
He was famous for painting historical subjects and portraits. Many of his works today can be found in major art exhibitions in places such as Munich, Düsseldorf and Berlin.
