Spanish tables in this plank top form with iron foils are generally made from walnut, and this piece is one of a small group of yewwood tables that were made in Palma. This table bears all the characteristics of the Palma tables; the use of yew the narrow plank construction, the ball and column turnings and the straight iron foils. The colour and patina on this table have matured to an exceptional quality, and this table exhibits a period surface that is unsurpassed.
