Trent, designed by John Henry Dearle (1859-1932) in 1888, and block printed at Merton Abbey. It was, according to Linda Parry... ‘The most expensive in the Morris & Co. range & the only pattern printed exclusively on linen'. The identification marks to the selvedge read 'Regd Morris and Company 449 Oxford Street London.W.', and date this linen to before 1917, when Morris & Co moved from the shop at this address.
