A superb quality early 19th century French bronze greyhound in recumbent position attributed to Antoine Andre Ravrio; on later rectangular marble plinth base.

Note: Ravrio was one of the leading bronze workers of his time in France. This model of a greyhound is part of a group of almost identical bronzes of which some are signed by the artist. He also supplied furniture mounts to the leading ébénistes in Paris like Jacob Frères and Benneman.
