A magnificent George I parcel gilt burr-walnut bureau bookcase in the manner of Giles Grendey, the upper part with a broken classical swan-neck pediment enclosing a giltwood cartouche and supporting finials at the corners, having shaped mirror doors enclosing a central cupboard flanked by drawers and pigeon-holes, the lower part of bombe form with sloping rest enclosing a fitted interior with a central mirrored cupboard, the two short and three long drawers with fine gilt brass handles, the sides with gilt brass mounts. Standing on ogee-shaped bracket feet. The mirrored doors replaced.
