Related to : Lot 820 Dukes Sale 6th June, sold £10,000. Catalogued as : A RARE HENRY VIII OAK COFFER with a hinged lid composed of two rectangular panels over a front with four panels carved with "Romayne" heads within Gothic leaf spandrels, the ends with twin panels, 58.5" wide x 22" deep. See illustration Estimate: 10000-20000. Incorrectly catalogued as English, it is a Continental chest.
