This impressive and elaborate Napoleon III low oval centre table has a shaped top inlaid with crossbanded Kingwood veneer and centred by a grand foliate marquetry cartouche, the table top is banded by a finely cast gilt-bronze border. The shaped frieze, with two opposing drawers, is similarly inlaid with marquetry panels and the table raised on four gilt-bronze, acanthus mounted, ebonised, scrolling legs united by ‘S’ and ‘C’ scroll stretchers and a central urn. The impressive naturalistic inlay to this table can be firmly attributed to Joseph Cremer.
