A good 20th century copy of a Neo-Classical hall bench in the manner of Robert Adam, of rectangular form, the overhanging top supported on eight cluster column legs, of square tapering form with carved fluted decoration.

This hall seat relates closely to examples at Crome Court in Worcestershire. Croome is one of England's finest Neo-Palladian houses, set in a parkland designed by Lancetot 'Capability' Brown (1716-1783) and contains rooms which were designed by Robert Adam (1728-1792). Both Adam and his contemporary James Wyatt (1746-1813) created remarkable follies throughout the grounds including statues, temples and gothic ruins.
