These chairs appear to be identical to a set at Hampton Court, originally attributed to Richard Roberts bill of 1717, but now are thought by Dr Adam Bowett to date from the 1720's.
The Hampton Court set suffer from having their original seat rails replaced, whereas this pair are in their original state. There are quite a few variations on the model, but these pure examples are a rarity. They have exceptional colour and patination.
