| Item Description / Dealer Expertise |
Each stands on three hoof feet which are attached to the main body with a stylised shell moulding. The main body has an elongated form and the rim is decorated with an applied reeded band. The flying scroll handle is decorated with leaf capping and both are very well marked on the underside. The side of each main body is engraved with a contemporary Crest, as used by Sir Edward Astley, 4th Baronet of Melton Constable Hall, Norfolk. A painting of Sir Edward and his sister Blanch, as children, is shown. This was painted by John Theodore Heins of Norwich 1697-1756. |
