A pair of late 19th century glass claret jugs made by Hukin and Heath and designed by Christopher Dresser, mounted with a silver plated bands, collars, hinged flat lids and ivory bar handles. Stamped “H & H” and bearing a Registry of Design mark for May 1881, Shape 2267. |

The silversmith firm was established in Birmingham in 1855 by Jonathan Wilson Hukin and John Thomas Heath, they are best known for their silver plated goods produced in the 1870's and 1880's many of which were made to the designs of the industrialist Dr Christopher Dresser.
