A Pair of Unusual Scottish Carved Horn Figures on Turned Horn Bases
Mid 19th century

Size : 18 cm high, 6.5 cm dia. – 7 ins high, 2¾ ins dia.

Carved showing the woman holding a painted portrait and the man a harp, these two carved sheep's horn figures represent Art and Music. They are the embodiment of Edward H Pinto's belief that; 'Folk art is the unselfconscious expression of traditional ornamented craftsmanship'.
