The Service Comprising: Eighteen Champagne Glasses; Eighteen Hock Glasses; Eighteen White Wine Glasses; Eighteen Red Wine Glasses; Eighteen Cordial Glasses; Fourteen Liqueur Glasses; Two 'Bottle' Shaped Decanters; Two 'Shaft & Globe' Shaped Decanters; Four Small Water Pitchers; Two Large Water Pitchers; One Plate with Domed Cover; Eleven Finger Bowls; One Tazza.
The second half of the nineteenth century saw a revival in heavy cut glass and complex designs. The ‘Lorient’ design introduced by Baccarat in 1889, includes glasses with bowls cut with broken diamond patterns, rosettes and bezels, a faceted stem and spreading star cut foot. The red wine decanters and the Hock glasses are cased crystal, the second layer of red glass cut away in sections to reveal the crystal below.
