Sometimes the legend and symbolism surrounding an animal becomes so elaborate that the creature is completely overschadowed, and that is the case with the Rhinoceros.The Rhino may not, of itself, be one of the most central animals in myth or legend.

Since the 16th.-17th. century Rhinoceros was regarded as an antidote and they believed that Rhino horn had the power to detect the presence of poison.
