A rare early 19th Century flutina in original carry case.
With mother of pearl keys, the rosewood body inlaid with a satinwood floral design with a central basket of fruit and geometric inlaid borders corresponding to the original carrying case which is in mahogany with a large swan neck brass handle to the top. The flutina is an early precursor to the diatonic button accordion, having one or two rows of treble buttons, which are configured to have the tonic of the scale on the "draw" of the bellows.
