The Box is circular in form and plain in design and would have been used for face patches. The pull off cover has a corded rim and is decoarted with a profile bust of King George I, flanked by GR, for George Rex. The base is marked with TK for Thomas Kedder. These boxes are nearly always from the workshops of this silversmith and are often referred to as Kedder Boxes. The majority were made during the reign of Queen Anne and show a profile of the Queen, however George I examples are very rare, as very few were made, possibly due to the unpopularity of the King.

Diameter: 0.75 inches, 1.88cm
